Traditional boatyard craftsmanship
From fine raw materials to hand-cast fittings, the quality of a boat with beautiful craftsmanship is in the detail
Each project at Cockwells begins with the finest raw materials. We keep substantial quantities of the best quality specialist boatbuilding timber in stock, ensuring that the perfect individual piece of timber can be chosen to precisely fit its purpose.
The stunning teak, mahogany, chestnut and walnut we use give a rich, luxurious feel and a solid feel of construction that modern synthetic materials cannot match.
Each member of the Cockwells team is a skilled craftsman and each adds his own individual stamp to our bespoke projects. The high quality of our workforce and the raw materials we use is complemented by our range of yard facilities.
Every aspect of the build process, from sawing rough timber through to completing the detail of the finished project, is carefully completed at Cockwells' workshops, where we have a fully-equipped wood machine shop that enables accurate and efficient processing of the best quality raw materials into components of fine boats.
