There is a corner of England where style, elegance and panache are still alive and well. It was worth the journey almost to the south western tip of the country to enjoy an evening in a special hotel, and a day on a beautiful boat.

For a 27ft boat it feels very grown up and has the kind of detailing you’d expect to find on a boat twice the size.

This new design – the GRP Duchy 27 – started life as the Aquila (CB199). So when Dave Cockwell bought the mould tools for this Andrew Wolstenholme-designed launch, he already knew how well it performed.
