Commercial craft from Cockwells
Safe, strong and reliable commercial ferries and workboats
A great deal is asked of commercial boats. They are pushed hard and used relentlessly while going out in some of the harshest weather.
The owner must be confident the boat is up to the challenge of a life in service and know that the craft will retain its value, and make money.
In 2008 we completed the Duchess of Cornwall to be the new St Mawes passenger ferry and she was subsequently christened by her namesake, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
As far as we can tell, she is the first wooden passenger ferry to be built in living memory and is now successfully operating in the role for which she was built as part of a service that carries passengers between Falmouth and St Mawes, every half hour or so 364 days a year.
We're very proud of the Duchess of Cornwall passenger ferry, indeed she's often there in the background when we're out on sea trials of other boats we've built. Look out for her in our photos.
